CEDIA Training at Facilities Integrate
10:00 – 11:30 a.m.: Emerging Technology Trends
With consumers rapidly increasing their expectations and knowledge related to technology, integrators must understand current and future technology trends. This course will offer a look at the speed at which new technologies become popular and will break down the most prevalent technology trends happening right now, as well as their future impact on technology integrators and their prospective clients.
12:30 – 2:00 p.m.: Wired, Wireless or Fibre? Understanding Bandwidth for 2018
We live in a world of Gigahertz, Megaflops, and Terabytes. New connectivity standards are appearing almost hourly, and, as an Internet-obsessed culture, our demands for data are increasing exponentially. Can you honestly explain every term that is used when talking about data and then choose a suitable carrier for it? If the answer is no, you're probably not alone! In this course, we'll start by looking at binary data and its terminology. We'll then use simple bandwidth calculations to understand how much bandwidth each system needs and compare those bandwidth requirements with the capacities available from common carriers. Students will leave with a clear understanding of data, bandwidth, and capacity. They will also be able to assess and apply bandwidth figures to real-world situations.
3:00 – 4:30 p.m.: The Essential Download on AV-over-IP
In a landscape of ever-increasing demands on video performance, AV distribution over Ethernet continues to evolve. In fact, it’s just now reaching the pivot point where benefits may far outweigh the compromises. So what makes AV-over-IP tick? What are the options available? What are the pros and cons of the different approaches? Will AV-over-IP really take over from the matrix switch as the go-to residential solution? Join us in this live, expanded edition of the popular CEDIA webinar.
10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.: HDBaseT Master Integrator
CEDIA and HDBaseT Alliance join forces to present the official comprehensive guide to HDBaseT. Adapted from the popular HDBaseT Installer Expert program, this course has been tailored especially for CEDIA residential applications, including system design, use cases, and troubleshooting.
2:00 – 5:00 p.m.: Residential Networking Essentials
IP networking is arguably the most important topic in the smart home industry and in modern telecommunications generally. This course provides an introduction to the Internet Protocol (IP) and network topology for residential networks. The session is ideal for both beginners and individuals looking to formalize and increase their IP networking knowledge. Attendees will learn about common hardware, network setup, and troubleshooting.
