ATTN: CEDIA Members in the State of Wisconsin
The Wisconsin Senate Committee on Commerce, Utilities, and Rail will hold a public hearing Thursday, September 27 at
11:00 a.m. on Senate Bill 167, legislation related to statewide electrical licensing.
Notice of the Public Hearing:
In April, the Wisconsin Assembly and Senate introduced companion bills Assembly Bill 294 and Senate Bill 167 to regulate electrical wiring and statewide licensure of electricians. As introduced, both pieces of legislation include an exemption for those who install, repair,or maintain equipment or systems operating at 50 volts or less.
Senate Amendment 1 offered on September 21, 2007 raises the voltage level to 100 volts and thus makes a proper distinction between the work of an electronic systems contractor and an electrician.
Thursday, September 27, 2007
Start Time: 11:00 a.m.
(Hearing will begin immediately after the Executive Session adjourns)
300 Southeast - State Capitol
Madison, WI 53701 |
CALL TO ACTION:
CEDIA will be attending the public hearing and will provide testimony in support of Senate Amendment 1 to Senate Bill 167 offered by Senator Russell Ducker, sponsor of Senate Bill 167. Plan to attend the hearing to help deliver CEDIA's message of why the Senate Amendment 1 is needed to raise the voltage level to 100 volts.
