Raising Industry Awareness


CEDIA is working to raise awareness and generate interest in the residential side of the systems integration industry by working with our members and partners to educate jobseekers, students, career counselors, academic advisors, government agencies, and community-based organizations about our industry through the following grassroots outreach and corporate social responsibility activities. 

Community Outreach

The bulk of CEDIA’s current general community outreach activities are taking place in its hometown of Indianapolis, with plans to support member community outreach efforts in their local communities.

ISE AV Career Day

At ISE each year, CEDIA partners with the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA) to offer students and educators from around the world a chance to explore careers in the systems integration industry. This event is designed to inform, excite and inspire and to promote greater awareness of AV careers, while also building bridges between schools and industry companies seeking qualified talent.

SkillsUSA Partnership

Since 2019, CEDIA has a partnered with SkillsUSA to produce their annual IOT and Smart Home Competition, which takes place at their National Leadership and Skills Conference. SkillsUSA is a national membership association that serves high school, college and middle school students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations. SkillsUSA has chapters in each state and is a member of WorldSkills, a global association that has members in 80 countries. Our partnership with SkillsUSA is helping us to promote our industry locally, nationally, and globally.

CEDIA Expo Career Day

Beginning with Expo 2020, CEDIA will be adding an annual Career Day to its Expo line up. Modeled after the ISE AV Career Day, this event will be designed to inform, excite, and inspire young people and educators, and to promote greater awareness of residential systems integration industry careers. Along with their faculty, students will spend the day touring the trade show floor, seeing first-hand how systems integration professionals use the newest technologies to create incredible experiences in our daily lives.


Connecting the Future

Industry education is only step one. To truly fuel the growth of the industry, we need to connect job seekers with job makers. While we currently offer training programs at our global headquarters in Indianapolis, we are seeking motivated partners to bring these incredible development programs nationwide.

Not only will CEDIA authorized training partners have a license to use our expertly crafted curriculum, materials, and other education resources, but through the network of our members we can help connect students with employers. For technical colleges, trade schools, community colleges, CTE centers, and any vocationally minded educational institution, a partnership can create a direct pathway into the growing home technology integration industry.
