The ESC Certification
is a foundational credential for individuals who work in the home technology industry and want to broaden their knowledge in all aspects of the channel.
The ESC-T Certification
is for individuals who are well versed in rough-in and trim-out tasks as well as installation and troubleshooting. This certification covers the technical expertise that forms the foundation of the industry.
The ESC-N Certification
is for an individual who has mastery of designing, installing, and configuring a network in the home.
The ESC-D Certification
is for an individual well-versed in needs analysis, project design, documentation, and design management. Most professionals who sit for the exam have five or more years of experience.

How to Take a CEDIA Certification Exam
CEDIA has partnered with Kryterion Global Testing Solutions to offer certification exams at over 1,000 global testing centers. Find a testing center near you.
Ready to take the exam?
- Get registered. Sign up for the exam of your choice: ESC, ESC-T, ESC-D, ESC-N. Within 24 hours, CEDIA will send you a voucher and link to the WebAssessor testing portal.
- Create a WebAssessor account and log in to select the exam time and location.
- Use the voucher to complete the registration. You will receive a confirmation email that may contain additional information specific to that location such as parking and directions. It will also remind you to bring appropriate forms of ID.
- Use WebAssessor to access test results and reschedule exams as needed.
