By completing a series of required structured online training, the technician will prepare for 3 days of face to face training and extensive hands on learning in a risk-free lab environment. Included as part of the online training is an opportunity to confer with other participants, mentors and experts, share documents and experiences and enhance your learning by networking with others in the industry. As part of this technical school you will be introduced to the basics of electricity, jobsite safety, project documentation, tools, cable and cable properties and the work done by a technician during the pre-wire/first fix phases of a project.
The face to face and hands-on learning builds on the on-line training with cabling, termination, testing, hardware installation, retrofit installation and final system commissioning. The final portion of the CIT hybrid technical school will be a review and administration of the CEDIA Cabling Infrastructure Technician certification exam. Upon completion and certification, you will be prepared to do this work safely and efficiently under supervision. This forms the foundation for further experience and growth in the industry and will allow you to increase in experience and professionalism as a certified cabling and infrastructure technician and a future lead technician.
