The PowerHouse Alliance

The PowerHouse Alliance and CEDIA are partnering to expand the availability of CEDIA’s industry-leading in-person training programs. We are committed to hosting in-person CEDIA Training courses at over 55 locations across the United States.

Training programs are slated to begin in October of 2021 and will start with the foundational courses that prepare individuals to sit for the CEDIA Cabling & Infrastructure Technician Certification.

CEDIA is currently working with the following Education Partners whose skills training programs lead to CEDIA credentials.


AV Tech (Detroit, MI, USA)

AV Technology Institute is licensed by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity to deliver private, post-secondary, technical education programs. CEDIA educational programming that leads to credentials are offered as part of AV Technology’s low voltage electronic installation, repair, and integration program. The CEDIA certified cabling and infrastructure technician (CIT) certification represents a technician whose primary task is to perform basic infrastructure wiring for low-voltage technology systems in a residential or commercial setting. Certified technicians are trained to use proper tools and techniques, follow project documentation, and operate in a safe and professional manner.

Ivy Tech (Indianapolis, IN, USA)

Indiana’s only full-fledged community college, offering programs in many disciplines, with technical and vocational education as a focus. Since 2019, Ivy Tech has referred students to CEDIA HQ for skills training that leads to credentials. Ivy Tech Community College serves communities across Indiana, providing world-class education and driving economic transformation. It is the state’s largest public postsecondary institution and the nation’s largest singly accredited institution of higher education. High-value degree programs and training are aligned with the needs of communities, along with courses and programs that transfer to other colleges and universities in Indiana.

Lincoln Tech (Nationwide, USA)

Lincoln Tech offers diploma, degree, and certificate programs across a wide variety of areas that teach in-demand skills. Various elements of CEDIA educational programming have been incorporated into Lincoln Tech’s Electrical and Electronics training programs. CEDIA is currently working with Lincoln Tech to transition from the ESPA EST curriculum and credential to the CEDIA CIT curriculum and credential.

Since opening its first campus in Newark, New Jersey in 1946 to provide career training for returning World War II veterans, Lincoln Tech has continued evolving as a destination for high-quality post-secondary education. Orange Tech (Orlando, FL, USA)

The mission of the Electronic Systems Integration and Automation program at Orange Technical College is to prepare students for employment in the electronics integration industry. The school is Central Florida's premier technical education provider, while CEDIA educational programming leading to professional credentials are part of the offering and are approved by the Florida Department of Education.

Skills4Stem (UK)

Skills4Stem is a global training provider that focuses on providing international technical qualifications in construction, engineering, and project management. Skills4Stem are the first provider of the UK Smart Home Technician Apprenticeship, and have worked closely to align the qualification with CEDIA's CIT and IST learning pathways.

Pinellas Technical College (Clearwater, Florida)

Tampa Bay’s premier technical education provider’s program focuses on broad, transferable skills, stressing understanding and demonstration of the following elements of the electronics technology integration industry: technical and product skills, underlying principles of technology, planning, management, finance, labor issues, community issues and health, safety, and environmental issues. CEDIA educational programming that leads to credentials are offered as part of their electronic systems integration and automation program and are approved by the Florida Department of Education.
