CEDIA’s Basic Residential Boot Camp focuses on the knowledge and skills needed to install low-voltage infrastructure in the home. It features a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on learning in a lab that emulates residential new construction and retrofit installation. During the labs, you will complete installation tasks and test procedures with an emphasis on the use and maintenance of proper job documentation. Presentation materials reflect current industry practices and standards. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
- Cable and connector fundamentals

Several hours of hands-on lab activities are included. Students will mark outlet locations, label and run cabling, terminate cables with various connectors, complete connections to wall plates and a central distribution location, perform verification testing, and complete a retrofit cable run and speaker installation in a finished wall.
