Member of Excellence Program

The CEDIA Member of Excellence title is the highest status a member company can achieve from the home technology industry’s only accrediting organization. First, a firm must be a CEDIA Member for two years and have a minimum of one CEDIA Certified smart home professional at the company. These companies are truly the best of the best and the designation confirms it to customers, peers, and the rest of the world. CEDIA Members of Excellence achieve all the designations listed here.

CEDIA Advanced Members have achieved the second highest status available for a member company. Firstly, one must be a CEDIA Member for two years and have a minimum of one CEDIA Certified smart home professional at that company. These companies have proven to have distinctions in place to continue to raise the standard of the industry. CEDIA Advanced Members have achieved the Customer Service, Community Outreach, and Continuing Education designations.

Learn more about the areas of distinction these companies have completed to reach this accreditation:

Customer Service

Ensuring customer satisfaction. Members are required to provide three client references (from projects in the last 12 months) and two references from CEDIA trade supplier members.

Community and Outreach

Volunteering & outreach to the wider community. To achieve this designation, members must either have a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy in place, have a CEDIA Outreach Instructor (COI) or a CEDIA Volunteer on their staff. A COI actively educates design professionals about the integrated home industry. A volunteer gives their time to CEDIA and the industry to develop initiatives, resources & training.

Continuing Education

Investing in your staff’s professional development. A percentage of staff from each member company is required to maintain 10 Continuing Education Units (CEU) per year. Across CEDIA, industry & partner training – ensuring their team has up to date knowledge from several industry relevant sources.

Craftsmanship

Dedication to providing clients with quality work. To achieve this, CEDIA member companies must have been selected as a CEDIA Awards Winner or CEDIA Awards Finalist within the last three years. Click here to be inspired by our Award-Winning members.

Certification

Demonstrating that staff have mastered a skill set and body of knowledge. A percentage of the companies’ technical staff must all have a CEDIA Certification in place. Ensuring you are working with a member company with multiple Certified individuals.
