Guest post by Rob Dzedzy of Media Rooms Inc.
We like to hear from our members and volunteers on topics that are important to them. Recently, we asked CEDIA member and volunteer Rob Dzedzy what he likes best about the industry and his work. Here’s what he had to say.
Why do you do what you do? What do you love about this industry? What motivates you?
I love to make awesome theaters that not only have great sound and fabulous picture quality, but also have aesthetically great interior design. Since we provide the audio/video systems and the décor, design, and fit-out, we have the ability to create some magnificent theaters. It is personally very rewarding to see a theater project through to completion and see the client’s reaction.
I also love technology and the lifestyle conveniences technology can provide. Technology in home electronic systems applications can save energy and automate and simplify mundane events so the homeowner can enjoy their time at home.
Technology also provides a means to allow more flexibility in living space design by hiding components out of sight, by using invisible speakers, or by consolidating electronic wall clutter into one control device.
The industry is constantly changing. No offense to masons, but a brick is a brick. Not much has changed in the masonry business. However, home electronics is exciting and changes almost by the hour. Betamax, 8-track, VHS, reel-to-reel tape, audio cassettes, LP’s, standard definition TV, CRT TVs, videodisc, Dolby ProLogic, and on and on, were all cutting-edge technology at one time. Now there is newer, better and faster technology which provides amazing functionality and convenience.
When it comes to the visual or auditory experience, the proper components in the best-suited environment can provide stunning results. I enjoy providing the best technology, the best environment and the best experience to my clients.
What do you love about what you do?
