How They Did It: Home Haven

This state-of-the-art home theater features a 120” 2.35:1 screen driven by a Sim2 SuperLumis 3-Chip 1080P DLP projector and Auro-3D sound. Five amps power thirteen Pro Audio surround speakers, one overhead channel, and two subwoofers, plus a six-speaker array that delivers the signature Auro-3D “dome of sound.”

The theater — directly below the home’s kitchen and breakfast area — was sound-isolated so effectively that the owner had no idea the room was pushing 113dB during calibration, even though the client was standing by the fridge.

The entire room is controlled by a Crestron MC3 processor and a TST-602 wireless touchscreen which commands 11 lighting loads (and screen masking settings) in addition to the AV components.

Two rows of theater seating, a snack bar, and a wet bar add to the luxurious feel of the room, which morphed into what amounts to a multi-purpose media and relaxation center. It has now become a haven for the family to watch movies, listen to music, and even read. The project, by Multimedia Resource Group Inc., was a Finalist in the 2016 CEDIA® Awards (Home Theater, Level III).

Thanks for the shout-out!  We couldn't have done it without our great vendor partners - Datasat, Crestron, Sim2, Pro Audio Technology, Lumagen, Torus Power, Cineak, Kinetics Noise Control, to name a few.
